Great place to come for dinner and a couple drinks. Menu is more than your basic bar and grill, with options ranging from burgers to some very tasty steaks. Drinks are also reasonably priced and service is typically friendly and quick enough for a place named "Slowdown".
I recommend going on a Thursday, steaks are 5 dollars off and a great deal for the price. -

Slowdown is a small pub and grill in a strip mall in Aston. We arrived around 4:30 for an early dinner this evening. We were sat immediately and greeted by our sever. She took drink orders without giving us menus and it took over 10 minutes to get a high chair.
We started with the crab stuffed jalapeños. They were pretty good and the highlight of the evening. The crab filling was delicious. Some jalapeños were cooked more than others. The lemon sauce was a bit heavy and was basically mayonnaise. I opted for a burger and fries for my entree. The burger while seasoned well and a nice size came out dry and overcooked. The server also didn't ask how I wanted it cooked. The bun also good was cold and not toasted. I also received chips instead of fries. The food also took a long time to come out, we were surprised because it wasn't very busy. 2 stars -

The service is just okay. My husband was also kicked out because his shirt was a cut sleeve which didn't follow they unwritten and randomly enforced dress code.

They changed the price to non-happy hour because I DID NOT EAT IT THERE !!

And had a 2nd beer at 5:58
Charged me for non HH price at 6pm
That was the gut punch !!

Since it's opening we have eaten at the Slowdown at least twice weekly. Never had a bad meal there but the past few months I have seen a real decline in the quality of both the food and ESPECIALLY the service.
On Saturday evening we went in and the hostess told us that it would be a 20 minute wait. We went to the bar and after only 5 mins the hostess came and got us to be seated. After 20 minutes of unfamiliar looking wait staff walking by us my husband went to talk with the hostess. She came over and told us that SHE forgot to to tell the waitress we were there. We waited another 25 minutes and when no one came over, we got up and left. We have spent soooo much money in there in the past . They have lost a regular customer and I will never say a good thing about that place again.
